Managed
TV hub
The
TV hub is the central node of the system that converts the
multi-channel RF input to user selectable video channels for
distribution using the standard building infrastructure. Each
ManagedTV hub supports 16 users and up to 192 video channels. The
input to the hub is via an industry standard RF feed and the output is
presented as an RJ45 socket for connection to the Cat5, 5e or 6
twisted pair cable. The selected video channel is then transmitted via
the cable to a ManagedTV receiver which can be up to 500 metres/1500
feet away from the hub. Multiple hubs can be linked together providing
support and control to hundreds or even thousands of users/displays.
Each hub has an Ethernet network port to provide connectivity to the
central management system.
ManagedTV
Receiver
The
ManagedTV receiver is a small
interface unit located at the display device unit that converts the
transmitted video signal from twisted pair media to a standard AV
(phone) output. It has an RJ45 input and industry-standard A/V output.
Bi-directional Infra Red blaster technology at both the receiver and
the hub provides the ability to control both displays and video source
devices like DVD player, video recorders from either a user or central
location. A separate receiver with USB interface is available to
deliver 192 channels of television directly to your PC.
ManagedTV
Software
The
centrally ManagedTV Web sever provides a platform for the management
of multiple hubs and their attached display devices no matter where
they are in the world.
It is possible to
grant or revoke channel access to users or groups of users, force
selected users to watch a specific channel, create viewing schedules
and interrogate the system in real-time or via on-line reports to
determine channel usage.
Device Control
The
ManagedTV Web software also has the ability to control the functions
of any connected display devices. Plasma screens or TFT displays can
be switched on and off instantly or on a scheduled basis, dramatically
increasing the life of your display technology.
Messaging
The
ManagedTV system includes OSD (on screen display) technology which
provides basic channel information on the screen. A unique messaging
system transmits alerts and announcements to selected displays which
turns the ManagedTV system into an information and communications
system for the whole organisation.
